Welcome to the Williston Downtowners Association Member Area

A Message to the Members from Director Lundeen

First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to the Board of Directors for entrusting me with this position. I am extremely honored to have the chance to help guide such an amazing organization. I look forward to meeting each one of you, and working alongside you as we continue to make Williston’s Downtown an incredible place. I do not take the responsibility the Board has entrusted me with lightly, and I look forward to working with them as we continue to grow both our organization, and the Downtown, together.

Secondly, I really want to tell you all how excited I am to have this new role. I have always had a passion for downtown/main streets, that I believe comes from my love of history. Now, having the opportunity to help the one in the city I live in flourish is amazing. If you are a member of our incredible organization, you clearly share my interest in helping Downtown Williston become the absolute best place for people to shop, eat, hang out, attend events, and own a business. I promise you I will work tirelessly to do my part in making that happen.

There is a palpable excitement about our beloved city’s Downtown, that I noticed almost immediately after my wife, son, and I moved here last summer. We were instantly attracted to the Downtown district, and regularly had people we were meeting inviting us to events like Summer Nights on Main. I believe strongly that our community has a desire for our Downtown to thrive, and wants to support the district and the amazing businesses it holds. I felt that desire as I maneuvered through the crowded main street on Thursday nights last summer, and I feel it now when I talk to people in the community about my new role. There is a connection to our downtown area that helps us connect with our past. I look forward to embracing that connection, and using it to move us forward as we continue to become a Downtown that people want to be a part of.

Finally, I want to express my genuine thanks to Louise Skaare. What an incredible job she has done as Executive Director! I first want to thank her as a citizen of Williston, who became connected with his new city so much quicker thanks to her work and events. Second, I would like to thank her as the new Director. She has been an incredible help and support line to me already, and is continuing to do so. The knowledge and information Louise is sharing with me is invaluable, and we are so excited that while she is leaving the position of Executive Director, she will still be around and involved with the WDA in various capacities.

Thank you all for reading! I really do look forward to getting to know you, hearing your stories and experiences in the Downtown, and working with you to keep moving us forward.
